When you’re dealing with financial data every day, it’s easy to forget that those numbers are ultimately a vehicle to help people achieve their personal goals. Whether it is helping people increase their wealth, fund their dreams or provide much-needed capital, it’s a point Katie Johnson has never forgotten.
After graduating with a diploma in business administration (specializing in human resources), Katie worked for one of Canada’s big banks at the branch level as a credit analyst. The former bank teller broadened her professional expertise in the role, gaining valuable financial experience along the way. Eventually, Katie began looking for a new challenge where she could have more flexibility to impact the business operations and put her passion for service excellence to work every day.
Katie brought her skill set—professionalism, a customer-centric approach and comprehensive technical expertise—to Outline Financial. After interviewing with the team and learning more about the process, Katie realized that her and Outline’s values were fully aligned—we both take pride in making customers happy, and are motivated by a strong workplace culture. “I love the fact that we take the time to properly train new employees and challenge everyone to present new ideas,” she says. “It creates a really positive work environment and ensures that we deliver the very best financial products to our clients.”
What Katie wants you to know about Outline Financial: “I would say it’s the diverse backgrounds of everyone on our team. Those unique perspectives allow us to provide real value to our clients. But most importantly, I would say our customer service philosophy is awesome. We don’t stop working until our clients are satisfied, with everyone on our team working together to ensure this is an easy and enjoyable process. Very few brokerages offer that kind of high-touch experience.”
Here’s what you may not know about Katie: She loves travelling and spent a month exploring Southeast Asia in her mid-twenties. Nowadays the busy professional doesn’t have quite as much time for globetrotting, and prefers that her travels involve plenty of relaxation. The good news: her parents spend winters in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, giving her a great excuse to chill on the beach. When she’s not boarding a plane for warmer climates, Katie spends time creating culinary magic in her kitchen (she’s a big fan of Italian cuisine).
